The OG Muscle Truck: 1979 Dodge Lil Red Express Pickup joins December Sale

Bunch Auctions has just received a 1979 Dodge Lil Red Express Truck. The classic vehicle will be featured in December 13th's Catalog auction.

Dodge released the Lil' Red Express Truck in 1978 and it was one of the most unparalleled Dodge trucks that has ever been produced. Not only was it a gorgeous machine, but the Express Truck was a solid performance vehicle. In 1978, the Dodge Lil' Red Express was the fastest American made vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 MPH as tested by Car and Driver magazine. 2,188 Express Trucks were produced in the introductory year.

With the great success of the 1978 Dodge Lil' Red Express Truck, production of the 1979 model was increased to 5,118. Most of the features remained unchanged for 1979, however there were some alterations which included a unleaded gas, a catalytic converter, and an 85 MPH speedometer. Other notable changes on the 1979 model included a flat hood, and square headlights that replaced the 78's rounded version.
